Ooooh this cake. Thiiiiis cake. Before I say anything else, I want to say I was largely inspired by Lutra-Gem and specifically by this cake by her: lutra-gem.deviantart.com/art/C…. So a big big shout out to her! She made me want to give melting chocolate and painting with it a go! So thanks!
So this right here is nooooot my best work. If anyone else can do a spectacular redo of this cake, feel ABSOLUTELY FREE! Haha. It was my first time using chocolate, and I did not use very good chocolate either. Word to the wise, buy chocolate pellets that are meant for melting. Especially if you want white. WHITE CHOCOLATE HARDENS SO FAST! It was annoying. I diiiid use Ghiradeli chocolate though lol. And it was super late and the cake needed to be done and so I kinda threw in the towel on this one. I even accidently left the plastic ladal in the pot which was heating the water overnight. Next morning it was all melted in the pot and smelled like a shot vacuum cleaner. But I DIDN’T BURN THE HOUSE DOWN!! YAAAY!!
So the cake could have turned out better, but people loved it anyway. And plus, it’s rainbow. So that made up for like, everything. Also, I found out I’m much more in my element with a bag of frosting than using a paintbrush. Just can’t paint as well man. ><
IIIIIIII made this cake... a year ago. Mid May. Hahah Just haven’t posted it. FOOOR my best friend Alyssa’s pikminAAA birthday. It was the very ending element of a huge HUUUUUGE surprise live action Zelda sidequest that was absolutely insane that I put together for her. I got four costumes together in less than a week, there were cuccos, lon lon milk, triforce pieces, a timed mini game, an ocarina used to warp, I was Fi, Alyssa was Link, had a Zelda who she had to save and a Ghirahim who captured her, the Master sword and Hylian shield had many places she had to go and collect and people she had to talk to, had a map, hit a point where she could go to any three places and she could chose the order but regardless of the order she went to them in she would be forced to visit each place at least once because of the way I set it up, IT WAS JUST GLORIOUS!!! It was super super legit. The cake was probably the most lacking part! Hahahahaha. I should really make a journal about that quest. It really was a thing of beauty. Nothing will ever compare to that fateful surprise sidequest that totally shocked her with the best last Friday of her High School career ever.
